Founder/Retired Music Teacher Miss Julia

Julia Cobley, a native Scot with a soft Scottish brogue, is a musician who has dedicated herself to bringing the joy of music to young children and their families. Julia founded Kindermusik Kids of Cary (now KinderVillage) in 1990 and has shared her love of music with literally thousands of children.
She is recognized for her ability to combine music, fun, and learning in the class room where her genuine love of children shines through. Julia was honored to be named Tarheel of the Week for her work with music and children. Julia was also inducted into the Kindermusik Maestro program at its inception, and is one of only 5 educators worldwide to have achieved maestro status not only for the scope of the program, but also for masterful teaching. Julia has also been honored as a Maestro in Outreach for her outreach work with GiGi’s Playhouse in Raleigh.
Julia has recorded 2 CDs for young children - "Hushabye Lullabies” and "Spreadin’ the Jam".
Julia retired from KinderVillage in December 2021 and passed the baton to the next generation of music teachers, so that she can spend time visiting her grandchildren who live in the Netherlands.
